Blackheath Lacrosse Club is a London based lacrosse club,
and the only women's club that trains in Central London.
The Club competes in the Premier and the First Division of
the South and East Women's Lacrosse League fielding two
league sides (the Legends and the Storm) in order to cater
for different levels of commitment and standards of play.
Both teams are combined into one for friendly matches and
tournaments, including London's Rosebowl tournament which
Blackheath won in the 2005/06 season. Blackheath trains
within London Underground Zone 1, and plays matches across
London, with its home ground on Blackheath Common in South
East London.
Blackheath has always had an international flavour, with
representation in recent years by players from Australia,
Japan, Canada, Belgium, America, Germany, Hong Kong and the
Home Nations of England, Scotland and Wales. Blackheath
caters to players of all standards, from beginner to
advanced, and typically sends a number of players on to
play for Kent County. At the regional level Blackheath has
contributed a handful of players in the last several years
to East Region and in recent years one or two Blackheath
players have been selected for Home Nations' international
squads.
Mixed games
Blackheath players also enjoy playing in mixed tournaments
and mixed friendly matches and Club members are always keen
to involve their male friends and other halves in the game,
irrespective of experience! We also host an annual mixed
tournament in August! The Club enters mixed tournaments and
organises friendly matches with other London or associated
clubs.
