Rosebowl

Rosebowl is a tournament (with games spread across the season) played by all the clubs in our league. The only difference is that only non-territorial and non-national players are eligible to play. Blackheath was the winner of the Rosebowl tournament in 2005 and came second in 2006.

This season, all Rosebowl games will be played at our home ground in Regents Park and round 2 could be home or at Purley Blues Ground in Croydon dependent on placing.

Players who do not play for the territorial or the national squad in the season 2011-2012 are eligible to play. notes: players in the territorial reserves, Centex training program, county squad are also eligible to play, but those in Territorial first, national A,B,C, development squad etc are not. Teams are responsible to supply team list to umpires on games day. Umpires are responsible to check players on the field are those listed on team list and to hand team list to opposite team. Team captains are responsible to send team list to selaxleague@gmail.com after the game. Teams fielding illegal players will forfeit their game.

Borrowing players

Rosebowl is developed to encourage participation, so rules are slightly different from League.
In case you are struggling to field a full team, you can borrow players from a team that does not play in the Rosebowl tournament providing the players are not national or territorial players.  We would much rather you show up with half a team than no team at all.
(PS if your team no shows, we cash your £100 cheque deposit).

If you really have tried everything and need to concede, you need to do that before Thursday (otherwise is a fine) please e-mail me first so we can rejig schedule and probably invite another team to take your slot.

These non Rosebowl teams are as below and you can find their contacts by going to this link (http://www.southlacrosse.org.uk/womens/clubs.html):

New Rosebowl scoring system (umpires please note)

As discussed at the AGM Rosebowl this season will introduce some measures to encourage development and participation:

The maximum goal difference that a team can get in a game is 10.  Once this is reached, game becomes "friendly" any extra goals scored will not be recorded until the other team catches up.
eg.  Team A has just scored and is leading at 10-0,  they score 3 more goals, game becomes "friendly" these 3 goals will not be counted towards their final score.  Team B scores 1 goal, game resumes "competitively" until Team A scores another goal.

Points system as per League:
5 for a win; 3 for a draw; 1 for a loss if the team scores half the goals of the opposition or more; 0 for all other loses; -1 to -3 for conceded games, depending on cancellation notice.

After the 6 teams have played each other, we proceed to the 2nd round where these will be played:

South 1st vs RP 1st vs RP 2nd
South 2nd vs RP 3rd vs RP 4th
South 3rd vs RP 5th vs RP 6th

Squad size

Maximum squad size will be 18.

Rules

Rosebowl tournament will follow current FIL rules. (there are recent change to rules. please see separate document.

Umpiring

Each team will have to umpire between 4-5 games. Each team will have to provide 2 umpires, one of them must be Level 1 or above. If an umpire fails to attend the game (or a team cannot put forward 1 or 2 umpires) a penalty fee of £25 per umpire will be incurred and your deposit cheque cashed. This fee will be paid directly to the umpires who stand in to umpire the game. The penalty fee is to be settled between the umpires.

Confirmation and Cancellation

All teams must confirm their attendance and umpires availability by Thurs 7pm before game. All teams must provide a contact number for games day in the event of cancellation. In the event of cancellation due to poor pitch/weather conditions, teams will be contacted by 8am on games day.
